The Supply Chain team requires a Purchaser to manage procurement of all the goods or services.  This position will present the right candidate with an excellent opportunity to join a strong, established and growing organization with an excellent reputation for innovative products, outstanding customer service, and a great work environment.

 

Salary range is 55,000.00CAD – 70,000.00CAD depending on skills and experience.

 

Job requires on-site presence in Sidney, British Columbia. Limited travel.

Role and Responsibilities:

The Purchaser will be responsible for all procurement activities within the company.  The Purchaser will maintain a highly professional relationship with suppliers and internal stakeholders.  This is a key role within AXYS Technologies, requiring someone who is extremely organized and can cope well under pressure.  This position is well-suited to someone who is highly motivated and has the drive and enthusiasm in what can sometimes be a very challenging environment and role. As AXYS’s Purchaser:

  • You will manage the procurement process of goods or services on behalf of AXYS Technologies. 
  • You will source equipment, supplies and sub-contracted services at the best price, and terms of payment and delivery while ensuring that the purchased goods and services are of acceptable quality and meet the specifications required for their intended use. 
  • You will manage and expand supplier relationships and negotiate rates and business agreements, corporate discounts and pricing structures that ensure maximum value in line with the Company’s objectives and buying policies.
  • You will maintain and recommend adjustments to inventory levels in order to ensure that production can meet delivery schedules.
  • You will ensure that material information in ERP such as costing, MOQs, EOQs, Safety Stocks and Reorder points are up to date and accurate.
  • You will participate in the company strategic initiatives related to the corporate supply chain.
  • You will ensure that key communication with suppliers are visible and available in CRM System.
  • You will prepare accurate up to date purchasing reports as well as analyze statistical data and identify and manage risk.
  • You will assist on maintaining, developing and implementing new systems, best practices, inventory control, demand planning, and other activities in order to optimize supply chain processes and support company growth.


Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years related management experience including at least five years in supply
    chain management in a similar industry, including international procurement experience; experience in cross border import and export; experience in out-sourcing domestically and off-shore.
  • PMAC/CPP certification, a degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Must be comfortable and thrive in a demanding role, where priorities change continually
    and deadlines are critical.
  • Highly motivated and positive attitude is essential to working in this very demanding
    and challenging role.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytics skills as well as the ability to be able to communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
  • Solid customer service background and ability to get along with people from all walks of life.
  • A collegial team member, solid communicator, with a proven ability to gain buy-in at all levels of the company.
  • Analytically minded, highly organized, detail oriented, and accustomed to managing sophisticated inventories.
  • Ability to evaluate and implement strategies that continuously improve our supply chain and inventory management.
  • Quick learner with the ability to have a working technical knowledge of the goods or services to be purchased within few weeks of joining the team.
  • Experience with the implementation and use of ERP system. Previous experience with Intuitive ERP systems is also an asset.
  • Experience with MRP and Inventory Control best practices for electromechanical systems is an asset.
  • Ability to read and understand basic engineering drawings.
  • Familiar with Office 365, Salesforce, JIRA and other industry standard software programs.
  • Knowledge or training in ISO9001-2015, ESD or equivalent quality practices would be an asset.
