Production Planner

Role Outline:
Our Production department is seeking a Production Planner for our team. To be successful in this position you have 2 or more years’ experience in a production/manufacturing planner role, are highly organized and comfortable working with changing and sometimes conflicting priorities. Experience with both electrical and mechanical work orders within a marine or environmental sciences industry would be a benefit.

Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Reports To:  Director of Solutions and Manufacturing Fulfillment

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate and schedule production orders
  • Work closely with Sales, Purchasing and the Warehouse to maintain components
  • Participate in production status report meetings
  • Monitor workflow capacity to achieve delivery dates
  • Support the sales team with reliable lead time assessments
  • Follow and adhere to all safety and quality procedures
  • Participate with the production team on improvement initiatives
  • Maintain production-related record keeping in the ERP/MRP and QMS system
  • Other work as assigned

  • Great work ethic and the ability to work closely with a team or independently
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities

Desired Technical Skills & Experience:
  • Good understanding of quality and process improvement methodologies
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and business reporting out of those systems
  • Good understanding of MS Office tools
  • Excellent understanding of Work Orders and Bill of Materials
